- Libya are preparing to face the Super Eagles of Nigeria in an AFCON qualifiers
Head coach of the Libyan national senior football team Adel Amrouche has reportedly resigned his position with the country's football governing body.
This comes four days to their 2019 AFCON clash with the Super Eagles of Nigeria which is expected to be played at the Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo. According to the reports gathered by BoomReporters, the inability of the Libyan Football Federation chiefs to pay Amrouche's six months salaries masterminded his decision to leave.
Libya are currently topping Group E in the 2019 AFCON qualifiers with 4 points after two games played, and they need to avoid a defeat against Nigeria on Saturday for them to have a chance.
Meanwhile, Libya are currently training in Tunisia, and Omar Al-Miryami is now expected to lead the team to Nigeria for their clash against the Super Eagles on Saturday.
Earlier, BoomReporters had reported how Adel Amrouche tendered an apology to Nigerians and all the Super Eagles supporters for the comment he made against Gernot Rohr's men.
The 50-year-old Algerian football manager made it clear that his wards are not scared of the Super Eagles adding that Nigeria believe in 'juju' (voodoo) to play games.
